Pippin Hill

As a Charlottesville native, when I think of Central Virginia, I think of those sweeping mountain views!  It is that vision that truly says “home” to me!  If you are looking to include this show-stopping scenery on your wedding day, then look no further than Pippin Hill!

Castle Hill

Castle Hill, a newer venue in Charlottesville, is just breathtaking!  The views are classic central Virginia visions with rolling hills, lovely historic trees and an expansive pond. The Barn captures the essence of the area with agricultural and equestrian interest.

I caught up with events coordinator Evelyn Keyes to ask her more about weddings at Castle Hill

What spaces do you have for a wedding ceremony or reception?

We have many spaces for wedding ceremonies, starting with the Tasting Room Lawn, which is on the Blue Ridge Mountain side of the barn. Secondly, we have the Linden Tree Grove, which is stunningly breathtaking.

We also have the Front Lawn, which is surrounded by boxwoods and magnolia trees.

The Back Lawn boasts two rows of gorgeous cherry trees and the landscape of water and trees beyond that.  All of the areas mentioned may be used for receptions as well.

We can fit as many as 500 seated using both levels inside the barn!

Do you have any in-house “rental” items?

We are working on purchasing “in-house” rentals such as tables and chairs and hope to have them for 2012.

In the meantime, we are probably the only venue in the state of Virginia that can offer a 500 seated dinner and wedding reception along with the outdoor ceremony on the same property.  More importantly, we have the ability to move the wedding ceremony inside in case of a rain date!  That in itself is priceless!

Tell me about your cider. How do you recommend serving and incorporating it in weddings at Castle Hill?

We recommend that our wedding couples purchase at least two cases for the wedding guests.  We love our guests to use the cider as either a wedding toast and or simply serve to guests during the wedding!!!

We have 4 kinds of cider and they are Levity, Cerrestial, Terrestial and Gravity!  The first three are sparkling and the last one is a still cider.  All of them make lovely compliments to a full bar during a pre-reception or wedding reception!

Do you have any preferred vendors that you work with on site?

We welcome all vendors and do have a preferred list on our website.  We like our wedding couples to be able to choose who they would prefer to hire for their event!

Boar’s Head Inn Wedding

I have fond memories of the Boar’s Head from childhood and think that it is equal parts romantic and wonderful. This wedding shot by Meg Runion fits both of these adjectives…so happy…enjoy!

Panorama Farms Open House

Last week, I shared a sneak peek of the incredible Panorama Farms and A. Dominick Events Open House…Today, I am thrilled to bring you more fab photos by Meg Runion Studios and all the details of the day!

The ridiculously amazing setting paired with the G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S  weather along with the all-star vendor team made for a fantastic event.

The creative geniuses at Beehive Events set this beautiful mock ceremony on top of a hill, with Panorama views of the mountains.

Of course, the venue decor by Beehive wasn’t too shabby either…

Guests dined on fabulous treats from Harvest Moon Catering. YUM!  Oh – and the super cool rentals – all from Festive Fare!

The Jangling Reinharts from Sam Hill Entertainment were perfect – they totally set the mood!

Yes, I am a little more than slightly obsessed with the Sperry Tent by Skyline Tent Company…Under the tent out back we lounged and roasted s’mores.

The Boar’s Head Balloon rides offered guests the perfect end to the afternoon…I wish we could go back and do it all over again!!

Clifton Inn

Clifton Inn is a rare combination of charming country inn and world-class luxury just outside Charlottesville, Virginia. It is a fine Relais & Châteaux property where Thomas Jefferson himself would’ve been right at home; in fact, its 100 acres of rolling Virginia countryside once belonged Jefferson’s father, and, in turn, were deeded to his daughter Martha upon her marriage to Thomas Mann Randolph, a governor of the Commonwealth and a member of the House of Delegates and United States Congress.

Befitting its Federal heritage, the stately columned main house and its simple outbuildings that now comprise the inn are furnished in restrained yet comfortable elegance. Whether on the Verandah, the Wine Cellar, the Front Lawn or under a tent, you cannot go wrong hosting your wedding or rehearsal dinner at Clifton Inn – the history filled pastoral setting is breathtaking.

Keswick Hall

If you are looking for the unique charm and “get-away” feeling of a destination wedding – but do not want the hassle or expenses unavoidably linked with extensive travel – you definitely want to consider Keswick Hall for your wedding venue. It is only 20 minutes outside of Charlottesville, but, according to Julianne Giuliano, Director of Sales and Catering at Keswick, once on the beautiful grounds, you will feel like you have been “transported to a private estate in Italy.”

I must say, after personally spending time there, I have to agree – the property feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. When I was there, I don’t think I had been that relaxed in months…maybe years…
